The PIC-SERVO SC Motion Control Chip is a
complete servo motion control system based on the PIC18F2331 microcontroller. It
executes all of the real time processes (PID servo filter, motion profiling, commutation,
error monitoring, communications) needed for controlling your motor. The simple
serial NMC communications
protocol lets you easily connect your microcontroller or PC host computer to multiple
controller chips. (The address space supports up to 254 controllers.) The
coordinated motion control support allows your host computer to precisely coordinate the
motion of up to 16 motors. The same Windows test utilities and libraries used with
our motion control boards can be used with your own custom boards designed with the PIC-SERVO
SC. (back

Motor Type: Stepper
data sheet |
Specifications |
- High speed indexer for stepper motor control systems
- Speeds up to 50,000 steps per second are suitable for microstepping
- Trapezoidal and velocity profiling modes with 32 bit position register
- Independent, software controllable running and holding current settings
- Analog input for motor temperature sensing
- Limit switch inputs, e-stop input, plus auxiliary inputs and outputs
- Step and Direction outputs connect to many common drivers
- Serial interface can be used with RS232 or RS485 multidrop communications
- Complete documentation and example software available
|
The PIC-STEP Motion Control Chip is a high-speed
stepper motor indexer based on the PIC16C73 which provides trapezoidal position and
velocity profiling control. The NMC
serial communications protocol connects your host computer and the Step and Direction
outputs connect to many standard stepper motor drivers. Fully compatible with the PIC-SERVO SC controller chip above,
you can easily put together systems controlling a combination of stepper and servo motors.
The same Windows test utilities and libraries used with our motion control boards
can be used with your own custom boards designed with the PIC-STEP.

Motion Basic Controller Chip
Part Number: KAE-MBV1-DP
Package: 28 pin, 0.3" DIP
data sheet |
Specifications |
- Master controller for creating stand-alone motion control systems
- Controls up to 8 PIC-SERVO, PIC-STEP
or PIC-I/O modules
- Plugs into socket on the SSA-485
adapter board
- Create simple Motion Basic
programs using our Windows based programming utility
- Easy-to use BASIC programming language
- Controller chip also provides a simplified ASCII Command Interface (ACI) mode
|
The Motion Basic controller chip is a
microcontroller which allows you to create simple stand-alone motion control programs for
up to 8 of our NMC motion
control modules. Using our easy-to-use Windows based programming and debugging
utility you can quickly create BASIC language programs which include motion
commands. Motion Basic programs can also communicate with another computer over an
RS232 or USB port. The Motion Basic controller chip is
designed for use with our SSA-485
board to allow non-programmers to create simple motion control applications.
The Motion Basic controller chip also includes a
simplified ASCII Command Interface (ACI) mode for communicating directly with our NMC motion controllers. When
operating in ACI mode, you can send simple ASCII commands ( e.g.: "1 svmp
5000") to the controllers using an RS232 terminal or a terminal program.
While not as efficient or powerful as the native binary NMC communications protocol, ACI mode
commands can be much simpler to use for non-demanding applicaitions.
